What you describe is my use case for Instagram, without the ephemerality. Curious why you chose Snapchat over Instagram.

For me, as with any social network, it is also about who is already there. The network with the people I most care about wins.

I also find that for this true social use case, I’ve had to be very careful to limit the number of people I follow, so the people I care most about don’t get lost in the noise.

I was actually disappointed to see Google deemphasize G+ because it was the only network that let me pivot seamlessly between different circles that I wanted to share with or consume content from.
