I totally agree. I consider Walmart’s balance of profits vs wages to be a disgrace. But you do have to consider the “offsetting effect” argument, because it is real. People are richer when there are low prices, and many people use that as an argument for the current situation. So it needs to be measured and accounted for in the entire equation. It’s pretty clear that it isn’t enough of an offset, but it is non-zero.
