I don’t think you understand what I’m saying.

If you were arguing that Facebook should just go back to a timeline-based feed of your friends, I might well agree that that would be better. But Facebook is already curating the algorithm. I’m just suggesting that if they are going to do that, they need to do a better job of it. Note that the point isn’t to push any particular point of view, but, for example, to make sure that a feed doesn’t just show just one point of view, or doesn’t feature stuff that is known to be spam.

Unless you are not using the internet, you are living in an algorithmically curated world. Your spam filter decides which email you get to read. Are you not OK with that either? You want to get it all? You want it to be optimized to show you spam ahead of your legitimate messages? That’s kind of like what Facebook is doing right now.
